Ghostly Falls

Grand Prismatic

Yellowstone National Park has many hidden wonders that lie out of sight of most of its visitors. Fairy Falls is not an exception to this. Hidden a couple of miles behind the world's second largest hot spring, down a lightly travelled path, is this wonder of the park that you almost have to be at before you can see it. At the top of the sheer cliff, a thin stream of water topples over the edge appearing to almost come out of a small pipe no more than a couple of inches in diameter. As it nears the end of its vertical drop, however, the water bounces from rock to rock and spreads across the base to nearly 20 feet wide. It is a very serene untouched piece of nature available to only those who choose to explore.
