Mossy Base

Grand Prismatic

With a deafening roar, millions of gallons of water pour over the lower falls of Yellowstone River every day. The power of the water reaching the end of its vertical decent ejects a thick cloud of mist that swallows up the rocks at the base. This is the perfect environment for the moss to color the monotone rocks below. The spectators on the ledge to the right above the falls help illustrate the grand scale of one of Yellowstone’s most popular destinations.
